The Olivia Exam Station is Closed until Further Notice
DPS-DVS reopened 16 exam stations on May 18.
These include: St. Paul, Arden Hills, Anoka, Eagan, Plymouth, Rochester, Mankato, Fairmont (opening May 26 for road tests only), Marshall, Willmar, Detroit Lakes, St.Cloud, Brainerd, Duluth, Grand Rapids, and Bemidji.

Please visit one of those locationats for testing services.

At this time Driver License Renewals will be by appointment only starting May 18, 2020.
Please call our office at 320-523-3612, to schedule an appointment.
Appointments will be 25min long, and face masks are required during your appointment.
Only 1 person per appointment will be allowed in the office at a time.

All Motor Vehicle and DNR transactions will still be processed by either dropbox or mail.

The Driver License Examiners will not be back in Olivia until further notice.

If you choose to mail your tabs in to our office please follow the process listed below.

If you would prefer to drop your tabs off in the dropbox located in the Government Center (East of the Court House) please follow the information in the tab renew by mail, but drop it in the drop box instead of mailing them to our office.

State Online Services

**Road testing is being cancelled statewide March 18 until further notice.  There will be no State Examiners at the Renville  County License Center until further notice.  At this time there will be no written tests, road tests or reinstatement fees taken at this location.**

Gov. Walz signed a bill into law March 28 that provides an extension for Minnesotans whose driver's licenses or ID cards expire during the peacetime emergency. 

The law extends the expiration date for any valid driver's license, instruction permit, provisional license, operator's permit, limited license, status checks, and farm work license that would expire during the peacetime emergency. The expiration dates for these licenses will be extended for two months after the date that the peacetime emergency ends. 



Reminders for Customers.

As of October 1, 2018 we are taking applications for the Real ID, Enhanced Drivers License and Standard Drivers License.

The new Real ID license will be required for travel beginning October 1, 2021 within the United States.

Written test/Drivers test exam location has changed to the lower level of the court house effective July 5, 2017.
