County Parks Open for Winter Recreational Activities

Citizens are welcome to enter any of the seven County parks by foot to enjoy hiking, cross country skiing, bird watching, and fishing as well as any other winter recreational activity.  Skalbekken and Vicksburg Parks have designated winter parking areas located inside the parks.  Lake Allie Park has a driveway for access onto the lake.  All other County parks will be closed to all motorized vehicles from November 1st, through April 15th.  Snowmobiling is allowed on park roads and signed trails specifically designated for such use within each park.  Services such as restrooms and trash pick up will not be available during these months. “NO HUNTING” in any County park at any time of the year, unless in possession of a permit under the terms of a special park hunting season.

Where to Park Your Vehicle When Visiting a Park in the Winter (Click on Park Name for Maps):

Anderson Lake: There is a gate at the entrance that is closed from November 1st
to April 15th. You may park next to the gate and enter by walking past the gate.

Beaver Falls (Horse Camp): There a no gate. You may park by the shelter.

Beaver Falls (Rec. Area): There are gates at each entrance that are closed from November 1st to April 15th. You may park next to either gate and enter by walking past the gate.

Birch Coulee: There is a gate at the entrance that is closed from November 1st to April 15th. You may park next to the gate and enter by walking past the gate.

Lake Allie: There a no gate. You may park by the shelter.

Mack Lake: There is a gate at the entrance that is closed from November 1st to
April 15th. You may park next to the gate and enter by walking past the gate.

Skalbekken (Upper Shelter): The gate is open. You may park by the shelter.

Skalbekken (West Entrances): There are gates at each entrance that are closed from November 1st to April 15th. You may park next to either gate and enter by walking past the gate.

Skalbekken (Horse Camp): The gate is open. You may park by the shelter.

Vicksburg (East Entrance): The gate is open. You may park by the shelter.

Vicksburg (West Entrance): There is a gate at the entrance that is closed from November 1st to April 15th. You may park next to the gate and enter by walking past the gate.
