Renville County Offices Closed to the Public Beginning March 30, 2020

OLIVIA, MN - Beginning at 8:00 a.m. Monday, March 30, 2020, all Renville County offices will be closed to the public.  The intent of this measure is to implement prevention and protection measures in response to the expanding COVID-19 pandemic, and to comply with the Governor’s “Stay at Home” order.

Employees will continue to be available to help the public via email, phone and virtual visit; however, the License Office will not be able to provide any services or process any documents, due to the state disabling access for the duration of the “Stay at Home” order.

A listing of department contacts can be found on the county’s website: https://www.renvillecountymn.com/departments/index.php

If you have documents or payments to drop off for a county office, please place them in the drop box located in the main lobby of the Government Services Center.   Keep in mind, the License Office will not be able to complete any transactions until April 13 or later, based on direction from the Governor.

Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our community safe.

Bob Fox, Renville County Board Chair
Lisa Herges, Renville County Administrator

*If unsure who to call, please contact Administration.
Thank you very much for your cooperation!

New GIS Application - Recorded Documents Lookup

Introducing the latest GIS application for Renville County residences, the ‘Recorded Documents Lookup.’  This application allows the public to view a list of the recorded documents, such as deeds, under any tax parcel.  The project, a collaboration between Renville County, TriMin and Pro-West & Associates, allows users to search by parcel number or property address as well as manual navigation by zooming in and panning across the map.

To view the actual documents a subscription is required to Renville County's Landshark map.  Info on the subscription can be found here.   This application is designed for the express purpose of recorded document viewing.  Because Renville County has many ways to view our county tax parcels, should you want to view parcels with county aerial imagery, please use the ‘Tax Parcel Viewer’ or our ‘Mobile Mapping’ applications.

Locations to find this application on the county website include:

Stay Home.  Stop the Spread.  Save Lives.  #StayHomeMN

On March 25, 2020, Governor Tim Walz announced a "Stay Home Order" starting Friday, March 27 at 11:59 pm through April 10, 2020 (two weeks). A stay at home order directs Minnesotans to limit movements outside of their homes beyond essential needs. By limiting social interactions, we decrease the chance of transmission of COVID-19 and help our health care sector prepare for increased demands. Learn more here: https://mn.gov/governor/covid-19/

What's Safe to Flush?

What’s Safe to Flush?
A message from Environmental Services: As toilet paper and disinfectant wipes fly off the shelves due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it is important to note what should be going into subsurface sewage treatment systems (also known as your septic system). Do not flush anything other than human waste and toilet paper down the toilet.

Septic systems are not designed to handle paper towels, flushable wipes, facial tissues, personal hygiene products, and disposable diapers, which add to the buildup of solids in the tank and can cause blockages in pipes. These items will shorten the life of your system and have the potential to cause sewage to backup into your residence. Dispose of these products properly in the garbage, and keep your septic system working efficiently!

Postponing 2020 Truck Weight Education Training

As a precautionary measure to mitigate the risk of exposure of the COVID-19 Coronavirus to the community, the University of Minnesota has made the decision to suspend in-person instruction and events from March 16 until April 1. (For the latest information on the University’s response to COVID-19, please see the Safe Campus website.)

We have decided to postpone the Truck Weight Course until a later date.  This is the right decision to make despite the frustrations and helplessness that all of us are feeling right now.

It is our intention to reschedule this event, although no additional details are available at this time.  Our staff will follow up with all registered participants as soon as more information is available.  Registrations will remain in place for the rescheduled event.

Thank you for your patience. If you have further questions or concerns, please contact us at ccapsconf2@umn.edu.  Thanks for choosing to expand your skills and capabilities with us.  We appreciate the trust you have put in us. Be healthy, safe, and well.

With warmest regards,
Center for Transportation Studies and the College of Continuing and Professional Studies
