Redwood/Renville Regional Material Recovery and Transfer Facility

Acceptable wastes at the transfer station:

Garbage (MSW-Municipal Solid Waste)

  • Residential Farm Garbage

Demolition Waste (in small amounts)

  • Toilet
  • Sink
  • Countertop
  • Bathroom vanity
  • Construction lumber
  • Small amounts of sheetrock (i.e. bathroom remodeling jobs)
  • Materials that can be easily unloaded by hand (No assistance available)
      • Large loads such as home re-shingling jobs
      • Total house/building demolition
      • Cement in large quantities

*NOT accepted at the Transfer Station. Contact the Renville County Demolition Landfill.    

Non-Acceptable/Prohibited wastes at the transfer station:

  • Appliances
    • Refrigerators, stoves, dishwashers, microwaves, dehumidifiers, washer/dryer, etc.
  • Electronics
    • Computer monitors, TVs, VCRs, computer towers, keyboards, phones, etc.
  • Tires
  • Household Hazardous Waste (Can be disposed of at Redwood County HHW facility or Renville County HHW facility, which is located at the Renville County Landfill)
    • Paint
    • Chemicals or solvents
    • Ag Chemical
    • Vehicle Fluids
    • Waste Oil & filters
    • Batteries (rechargeable, lead acid, button)
    • Ballasts/Fluorescent Lights
  • "Other" wastes
    • Yard waste, grass clippings, leaves, stumps, grubbings, root balls
    • Radioactive waste
    • Sewage sludge/septic tank pumpings
    • Asbestos of any kind
    • Waste containing free liquids/free liquids
    • Infectious waste
    • Vehicles of any type
    • Animal carcasses/animal waste

This is not a complete list, please call the transfer station and/or view the county website for additional disposal options.

NOTE:   Mixed loads cannot be separated at the transfer station
              Mixed loads will be charged the MSW rates & may be subject to additional charges
              Any "demo" (acceptable items) brought to the transfer station will be charged the MSW rate

The Transfer Station reserves the right to refuse any load.
